Age Requirements

A vehicle in Virginia is considered a classic if it meets the following age requirements:

Passenger Vehicles, Semi-Trailers, and Motorcycles

Vehicles must be at least 25 years old before January 1 of the current year.

Sole Ownership Requirement

Classic vehicles must be owned solely as collector's items and not used for daily transportation.

Antique Vehicle Registration

Owners of antique vehicles must complete a VSA 10 B Antique License Plate application and meet the following requirements:

Provide proof of ownership

Pay a $35 registration fee

The vehicle must pass a safety inspection
